“Working directly with the horses allowed me to experience a familiar challenge in a whole new way, a way in which I felt a communion with something greater than myself. Starting from a place of silence and stillness makes me feel strong and confident. The non verbal aspect of working with horses allowed me to achieve deep personal insights in a way that felt real and honest… Working with horses has a kind of therapeutic effect that is like hitting the ground running. This work is a very valuable and useful way to learn powerful life lessons. [It was] also very spiritual and grounding.” Paulo Ribelko
“I was a bit skeptical as I am not a horse person, but I was hugely surprised by the day’s relevance to people.” Anonymous
“Seeing my coworkers in a non-work setting, watching how they interacted with the horses and each other [was valuable]. Spending time with the horses was brilliant. I feel blessed, grounded and happy.” Anonymous
“This was a great team building and energy workshop. Thank you.” Anonymous
What was not helpful? “Having to leave”. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Anonymous
“Learned a lot about myself and my boundaries and self imposed limitations that hinder me.” So many great learning experiences that I can apply to my work and home life.” Anonymous
“Understanding how simple it can be to focus intention [was valuable]. Remembering to stay in the present and how easily we can get distracted… is a constant reminder but having a 1000 pound horse beside you is a strong incentive.” Anonymous
“Calmness will help when working with others. Clear intentions are key before communicating. When can we do it again?” Sandra Lepuch
“Relaxing, authentic experience, beautiful environment. The horses respond instantly to your energy shift and in turn teach you a lot about yourself… Great host and facilitators!” Shelley

She has a B.Sc. in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Toronto, a Business Administration Certificate from Ryerson University, a Master of Divinity from the Vancouver School of Theology at UBC, and has completed Post-Graduate training in Family Systems Counselling with Living Systems in Vancouver. She was honoured to receive a scholarship at Hazelden, a world renowned addictions recovery centre in the United States that allowed her to train there as a Professional In Residence. She completed the Pioneering Leadership course with Linda Kohanov, Equine Assisted Therapist and author of The Tao of Equus and Riding Between the Worlds at her Epona ranch in Arizona. She has also taken a natural horsemanship workshop with Glenn Stewart and has recently completed the Leadership through Equine-Assisted Personal Discovery course designed by Chris Irwin at the University of Guelph. Terri has been working as a therapist for the past ten years.
Leslie Ross M.Ed.,RCC was originally trained as a Gestalt therapist and then went on to receive her Masters in Counselling Psychology in 1995 from UBC. That same year she opened a private practice in Vancouver, where she continues to work with individuals and couples on a variety of issues including general life dissatisfaction, depression, anxiety and grief. One of Leslie's primary areas of focus is supporting wellness and life balance for caregivers: from parents being challenged to find time for self care to staff working with severely traumatized individuals in areas such as the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.
Leslie co-founded Windhorse Awareness Program, an Equine Facilitated Personal Development (EFPD) program on Salt Spring Island. Over the last number of years, she has facilitated many EFPD individual and group sessions focused on topics such as leadership, team building, boundary clarity, spirituality and relationships. As well as the EFPD work, she has facilitated and co-facilitated many groups in areas such as women's spirituality, menstruation, Celtic Shamanism, dancing and dreaming.
Leslie's other trainings include EMDR, PSYCH-K, and Equine Facilitated Learning with Barbara Rector (www.adventuresinawareness.net). As well she has studied for many years with gifted horseman Josh Nichol (www.joshnichol.com). Her ongoing studies include the Ontogony (self realization) teachings of Carlos De Leon of Mexico, meditation, shamanism, Tibetan Buddhism practices, Chi Kung as well as Tantric teachings with Parvathi Nandanath.
The foundation of Leslie's work, whether it be in her office or in the round pen with the horses, is to offer an emotionally safe environment that encourages individuals to gain a deeper awareness and consciousness of their true nature; who they are on a soul or spirit level. A connection on this level results in an increase in personal freedom leading to an expansion of love, compassion and joy for self and others.
Lynn Chapman has a B.A. in Criminology from SFU and is a certified family mediator, having practiced family law for sixteen years. She is also certified as a Level 2 English and Level 1 Western Instructor from the Certified Horsemanship Association and has taken numerous courses in natural horsemanship.
